Insadong

I was catching up with a Korean friend in the evening for dinner. We met outside Chungmuro station and walked north in slight drizzle.

Insadong is an area of Seoul that is a focus of artistic life. It has a mix of modern and traditional buildings.

It has undergone gentrification and the proliferation of retail shops.

However it retains many narrow alleyways.

And traditional Korean houses.

Dinner was Korean cuisine with a stew of vegetables and beef. Note the standard assortment of side dishes.
